Kate Winslet is obviously the patron saint of Kate-book.com. I mean, I think she is the pinnacle of everything a Kate should be. But I am getting an eensy, teensy bit tired of her sounding the trumpet for “not perfect” women everywhere. In her latest interview with the British newspaper The Sun, Winslet says that she feels it’s her duty to strip down in flicks like “Titanic,” “Holy Smoke,” “The Reader,” and “Mildred Pearce” … to represent for Team Not Super Model.
“I look like the people that walk down the street. I don’t have perfect boobs, I don’t have zero cellulite — of course I don’t — and I’m curvy,” says Winslet in the interview. “If that is something that makes women feel empowered in any way, that’s great … On a deeper, subconscious level, it’s one of the reasons why I’ve allowed my stupid self to be so naked on screen.”
Love you, Kate. But I didn’t pass a single person on the street today that looks as stunning as you. And, really, you can’t fool us—because we’ve seen them often. You do too have perfect boobs!
Luckily, Winslet made up for this with other quotes in the interview.
When talking about her mentor, Emma Thompson, Winslet reveals how thankful she is to have had someone keep her down to earth despite the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy trifecta.
Winslet says, “I thank her. I just say, ‘God, you can’t imagine how grateful I am to have had that so young.’ I mean, I very much doubt this would have happened because my family is so solid and would never have allowed it, but I could have turned into a right little s*** if I hadn’t been shown how to behave.”
And that I don’t believe either.
